According to the child’s mother, things were okay until the November of last year when Marende suddenly stopped fulfilling his duties.
According to the child’s mother, things were okay until the November of last year when Marende suddenly stopped fulfilling his duties.
The woman
disclosed that Marende was amazed by the news of being a father when she
delivered the child at Nairobi Hospital and promised to take care of the child.
Marende moved her house from the house she was living in Westlands and relocated her to a four-bed roomed apartment in the plush areas of Lavington. At that time, Marende paid for the child’s medical policy, upkeep and for a house help and when it was time to start schooling, Marende had the child enrolled in an international school within Karen.
According to the woman thing changed after the 2013 General Elections
when Marende ordered her be moved from her Lavington home to Kileleshwa and
thereafter to Rongai. By November last year Marende completely stopped
providing for the girl’s upkeep.
According to the woman Marende
failed to pay school fees for the first term, this year, a move the woman says
prompted her to file the case.
According to the standard newspaper, the woman wants the court to issue interim orders directing Marende to pay Sh475,000 monthly for the child’s upkeep pending the hearing and determination of the case.
She wants the court to order Marende to pay school fees amounting to
Sh180,000, rent (Sh90,000), clothing (Sh60,000), entertainment (Sh100,000),
electricity (Sh10,000), water (Sh5,000) and a care giver (Sh12,000). The case
is scheduled for hearing on February 26, in the presence of both parties
